Dr. Russell Stackhouse - Biography

Dr. Russell Stackhouse obtained his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University, followed by his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then went on to complete an ophthalmology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia and finished his medical training with a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Stackhouse's area of expertise includes complex cataract surgery, femto laser-assisted cataract surgery, advanced technology intraocular implants, refractive clear lens exchanges, and LASIK. He is one of the most sought-after cataract surgeons in Northern Florida, performing over 2000 cataract surgeries every year. Dr. Stackhouse, along with his wife and three daughters, have made Amelia Island their home for many years and are deeply involved and invested in this community.
