I used Dr. Stubits in the 90's then moved away. After returning to the area recently I went back for my yearly checkup. I decided to have laser cataract surgery. Everything went extremely well. Dr. Stubits and Dr. Stackhouse are wonderful and the entire team. I would recommend them both!read more

Absolutely the best!! Not even a patient yet, my hub had an emergency due to something in his eye. Coastal Vision saw him right away and took care of the problem. I recently went for an appointment for new glasses. Last year I was told my right eye wasn't correctable by another eye center due to RK surgery almost 30 years ago. Well.... My new glasses from Coastal Vision are perfect. I can see near and far with clarity. I feel so happy to know there's a team if people who can help me as eyes change as you age. Thank you!read more

Coastal Vision Center is a very diverse practice that can handle practically any eye care need and is great for all ages.Their optical shop will be the largest you’ve ever seen with a wide range of frames that can fit any budget (not like the hole in the wall eye practices that have a small selection for budget frames (on top of making you feel bad for choosing them)). They also have quite a selection of high end frames (if this is tempting, I suggest leaving the good credit cards at home - you can do some serious damage LOL). Regardless of what you choose, the optical shop will help you every step of the way and is very patient and accommodating when giving you options that work with your insurance. Even if you received your prescription elsewhere, I suggest going to Coastal Vision Center to purchase your glasses... you are much more apt to find a pair you like, with exceptional service on top of it.This practice likes to share their knowledge and has many train/intern under them, which shows how much experience they have. Each member of the clinic staff treats their patients with the highest regard and makes you feel like you’re important. The doctors are very down to earth and helpful and treat their exams more as a two-way street versus just telling you what you need and leaving. They want to make sure you’re leaving happy and comfortable with the right solution for you, as well as answering any questions or concerns you have.Overall, the clinic is caring and helpful, the optical shop is phenomenal and the front staff is friendly and efficient. Your visit may be quite a bit more lengthy than you would get at another practice, but it is worth it to get a higher level of service, care and better optical experience. I definitely would suggest this practice to anyone that is looking to make their eye care be an experience, and not “just another appointment”.read more

I am delighted to express my gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Herron and her staff at Coastal Vision Center.Upon arrival, the receptionists were very friendly, polite and accommodating and the wait time was very short. Dr. Herron was phenomenal! She’s very knowledgeable, diligent and attentive to my needs and concerns. She thoroughly explained to me the images and reports to help me fully understand the health of my eyes. Her ability to convey genuine concern and interest in me as a patient resonated with me. All of the staff followed the CDC guidances including sanitizing the equipment before each use, wearing masks, etc. This has been my best experience in over 15 years of wearing corrective lens! This is definitely my new home for all of my vision needs. I typically don’t leave reviews but Coastal Vision Center deserves the recognition and acknowledgement for their outstanding service. I highly recommend!read more

Be advised, there will be a 40.00 dollars charge for a procedure to test your eyes that is not covered by most insurances. I did not have a credit card on me and luckily had cash to pay it. A reminder of the charge added to the text for the appointment reminder would be nice. So, bring 40.00 dollars with you or a credit card. Dr. Heron is my doctor and she is very good at her job.read more

After years of traveling back and forth to South Carolina from my home on Amelia Island for my twice yearly eye exams because I trusted my doctor so much I finally decided to make an appointment in Fernandina Beach. I did and had my first visit with Dr Herron at the Coastal Vision Center.The office staff were super nice and efficient and Dr Herron was great. Very professional . Not only do I have a new Doctor who ( whom ? ) I trust I have also saved myself two 800 mile round trips to SC every year.PS ,The office area and exam rooms/equipment were immaculate.read more

This is my second exam and my eyes have cataracts, Dr Herron was great did not try to sell me stronger contacts but set me up with Dr Stackhouse to review my options. Very much appreciate their professional and friendly care of me. Get staff to work with.read more

Coastal Vision is the best! The staff are so professional and friendly, and they are doing a great job cleaning and sterilizing everything. My eye exam was so thorough, and the doctor answered all of my questions with care. I highly recommend this office!read more

I can't say enough good things about this entire office and staff! We were on vacation and my daughter had an ant in her eye and experienced severe swelling. We called in a panic at 4 p.m. and the front office was so nice and accommodating and said they could see her that day. When we arrived, we were greeted by a caring front office staff and there was little waiting time before she was examined by the doctor and medical staff and given a prescription that worked like a charm! From start to finish, everyone was friendly and professional. We are truly thankful for the care she received and would highly recommend Coastal Vision Center.read more

Dr. Herron is the BEST!! My husband had an irritation in his eye & Dr Herron found a microscopic piece of grey eyelash embedded in it & removed it. She just did not give up until she could find out what was irritating his eyeread more

Professional service and staff. I have been twice with different doctors and both were very thorough and efficient. The wait was a little long the second visit, but the place was buzzing, so very understandable. Eyeglass frames are a bit expensive as most are at any optician outside of Walmart, but I don't mind paying a little more for higher quality and better fashion.read more

I am so pleased with Dr Stackhouse and the entire staff at Coastal Vision Center. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, professional and helpful. I have always been seen on time, everything explained as we go through the eye exams and solutions are recommended. Everything is done efficiently and easily. And I want to mention that everyone was friendly and personable. They made me feel comfortable about a procedure I needed and their knowledge and professionalism made it easy to trust that all would be well. Indeed all is well...and my eyesight is 20/20 again. I will definitely be seeing these great folks again for my yearly check up.read more

Saw me same day for eye issue. I just moved and had no doc here. Extremely thorough and professional evaluation by Dr Shelby, then saw Dr McClane who referred me to a retina specialist. Very professional office. Opticians, optometrists, and ophthalmologists are available for any eye care needs you have. Not the cheapest, but if you value your eye health and vision, this is the place to go.read more

Dr McClane rocks! He is the perfect doc, quick at figuring out what is going on gives excellent care, it’s kind focused, professional and he has a really great staff. His associate, and intern on ophthalmology was stellar, I hope he keeps her! They have a fabulous assortment of glasses they are not pushy and reasonably priced. Now if only they would open up the swimming pool to patients… lol! Great group recommend them highlyread more

I showed up with an employee of mine at the last minute Right at 5:00 No appointment And they took him in and removed a foreign body from his eye They were fast, friendly and saved me a bunch of money for keeping me out of the emergency room It was a very pleasant experience And we were even from out of state and they still didn’t turn us away Thank you Coastal Vision Center Your staff was awesome and you Office is beautifulread more
